Codex setup

Add the server using the Codex CLI.

Initiate sign-in to your Fotogenic AI account.

Codex may require a restart after setup before Fotogenic AI MCP tools appear in a new chat. Then ask Codex to check your Fotogenic AI account status.

Cursor setup

Open Cursor Settings, then go to MCP and add a new server, or create ~/.cursor/mcp.json for global setup.

Restart Cursor if needed, then sign in to Fotogenic AI on first use.

Security Best Practices

MCP gives a connected AI client controlled access to the Fotogenic tools you enable. Use trusted clients, review permissions, and keep spending confirmations aligned with your comfort level.

Use MCP clients, extensions, and marketplaces you trust. Double-check domains before using one-click setup links.
Review Client Permissions and Credit Limits before connecting a new AI client.
Treat product pages, uploaded files, and external page text as untrusted input. They should not override your instructions or account limits.
Keep confirmation required for higher-cost requests and paid image repairs, especially when agents work autonomously.
Use Connected Sessions to revoke clients you no longer use or do not recognize.
